This issue is related to the tag aware Ocelot version (branch: amake:tagAwareCnP-squash)
The tags tooltip text contains '<' string instead of '<' symbol.
tooltip text: <bpt id="1"><h2></bpt>
tooltip text: <ph id="2bc" ctype="x-label-tag"><<placeholder>></ph>
The raw issue description contained the "less-than" symbol XML entity < but when rendered this showed as the symbol itself, <. I understand the issue to be that Ocelot shows the XML entity instead of the symbol, so I edited the description to reflect that.
We of course can show the symbol instead of the XML entity, but is that really what is desired? The tooltip shows literally what the Ocelot visual representation (<Xpt1> etc.) represents in the source file, which will correctly have XML entities in place of reserved XML characters such as <. Unescaping the tooltip text seems misleading to me, but I don't feel that strongly about it.
Given the above, if you still prefer to unescape the tooltip text please let me know.
That's perfect then. I apologize for opening this issue.
I thought it was a bug just because the closing symbols '>' are displayed and not the entities ">".
Thanks for the explanation.
No worries Closing symbols are not reserved characters in XML because as long as < is properly escaped then you can have all the > you want without making the markup ambiguous.
It is not an actual bug.
